Robotics is a branch of artificial intelligence that deals with the study of creating intelligent and efficient robots.

What are Robots?

Robots are the artificial agents acting in real world environment.

Objective

Robots are aimed at manipulating the objects by perceiving, picking, moving, modifying the physical properties of object, destroying it, or to have an effect thereby freeing manpower from doing repetitive functions without getting bored, distracted, or exhausted.

What is Robotics?

Robotics is a branch of AI, which is composed of Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Computer Science for designing, construction, and application of robots.

Robot is a machine with mechanical power and having several parts, designed to perform multiple and complex functions in particular domain whereas, Robotics is the branch of technology and engineering which deals with the construction, operation and application of robots. The main objective for the development of robots is to ease the human life by minimal efforts in numerous categories. Artificial intelligence in robotics allows the machines to perform tasks by giving them sense of decision with the help of electrical components and computer software.

Robots are further classified into following types

1-Maniplator Robots are the machines which are made up of rigid body and movable arms designed to operate the materialistic objects without contact. It is applicable for dealing with unreachable places and radioactive or bio hazard materials.

Legged robots - AI Robotics

2-Legged robots are also peculiar type of robots in which numerous limbs are attached for the movement of machine. It is more convenient and flexible operator. The movement of legged robots is replica of the movement of different insects.

3-Wheeled Robots are consisted of wheels. These robots used wheels for movement and change in direction also takes place with the help of rotational speed of wheels. It requires no separate steering to operate the movement.

4-Autonomous Underwater Vehicle is type of robot which is designed for the movement in water. It is machine with built in artificial intelligence which doesn’t require any instructions from operator. It has ability to swim freely inside the water.

5-Cartesian coordinate robots are also one of the most amazing types of robotics. They doesn’t have ability to rotate instead, these robots can move in a straight line and consists of three joints which is helpful in wrist up-down, back-forth and in-out movements.

Drives for Artificial Intelligence Robotics:

Any device that introduces a motion in to a system is called drive. There are 3 types of drives which are implemented in all types of robots.

1- Hydraulic Drive is the hydrostatic type of drive in which energy is transferred to machinery with the help of pressurized hydraulic fluids. Fluid provides maximum amount of energy to the machine for proper working. It is implemented for explosion free robots because hydraulic drive has zero tendency of explosion.

2- Pneumatic Drive is based on pneumatic actuator which transfers energy from pressurized gases. It is also very powerful drive. Commonly, it is used to generate the rotational motion. It is economical drive comparatively. Components are easily available. For instance, nail gun is the best application of pneumatic drive.

3- Electric drive is the most accurate and precise drive in which electricity is used to transfer power to machine. This drive can be used for the complicated paths of motion because DC stepper motor is used in it.

Advantages of Artificial Intelligence Robotics

Robotics is branch of science which is serving the human in multiple ways. It has amazing benefits in our daily life. Robots are the best option is their domains. Robots are free of sentiments so they can work for long time without laziness, fatigue and boredom. Robots can also provide cheap, accurate and swift working as compared to the human workers. Robots also enhance the quality and reliability of work. They can also lift heavy weights and able to work in hazardous environments.

Conclusion

It is prime important to understand the implementation of robotics in different sections of life because artificial intelligence in robotics has revolutionized the human lives by providing enormous facilities at door step. Now-a-days robots are serving us in agriculture, automobile, construction, entertainment, health care, Law enforcement (surveillance, patrol) and also implemented in military and transportation sectors. In future, modified forms of robots are in pipeline which will be introduced soon. It will be more compatible and efficient. In transportation, use of sensors in automatic breaking system will help to prevent the loss of precious human lives. Robotics will allow you to drive your car from home. Robotics should be applied in each and every field of life to get maximum benefits.
